Kent County Cricket Club since 1847 and witnessed some of the sports greatest playing in its tranquil and unique surroundings.

In 1847 The Spitfire Ground St Lawrence made history and became home to one of England’s best known cricket clubs – Kent County Cricket Club.
The ground is also one of the regions foremost conference and events venues with a fantastic selection of suites available for hire for all kinds of corporate and private occasions.

The Spitfire Ground St Lawrence has a capacity of 15,000 and since it’s foundation in 1847, four One Day International matches have been played there increasing its profile as a cricket venue.
An unusual facet of this ground is the prominent lime tree situated on the pitch. The ground was built around the tree and as such, special local rules were introduced; shots blocked by the tree were counted as a four. To this day only four cricketers have cleared the tree to score a six.
The Spitfire Ground St Lawrence underwent a £9 million redevelopment to create best in class facilities.
The conference and events facilities were modernised while the pavilion and other stands upgraded.
